While much of our work overlaps and intersects, these are our primary spheres of expertise.
Health economic evaluation is our flagship capability. Our consultants are experts in theoretical and applied health economics. We design and execute a broad range of health economic evaluations, including cost analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
We design and execute health outcomes studies using health-related quality of life surveys, contingent valuation surveys, and discrete choice experiments.
Decision modeling is the main conceptual model for applied health economic evaluation, but we apply it to other areas including clinical decision making, policy analysis, and strategic planning. Our consultants are experts in a wide range of modeling techniques including Markov modeling, multi-criteria decision analysis, and discrete event simulation.
COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH
We conduct quantitative studies of existing health care interventions to determine which interventions work best in different patient groups, and which interventions pose the greatest benefits and harm to patients.
We perform evidence finding and synthesis on topics of interest to our clients. Depending on client needs, we can perform reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.
HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH
Our team organizes and executes health services research studies ranging from quality of care studies, clinic time and motion studies, and a variety of patient surveys.
We organize and execute a wide range of data collection activities including cross-sectional surveys, panel surveys, and longitudinal surveys. Our consultants are able to use pre-designed survey instruments provided by clients or to design, pre-test, and validate original survey instruments.
We analyze primary data collected by our consultants or secondary data provided by clients. Our analysts perform standard bio-statistical and econometric analyses using a wide range of empiric specifications.
Our consultants prepare a wide range of health policy communication tools including policy briefs, editorials, presentations, and other communication materials.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION & EVALUATION
We plan, execute, and report on health and healthcare projects, and perform independent process and endpoint evaluations of projects and programs.
